grams of protein a day, at least

Questions

How much protein do I need on a GLP-1 medication?

A common evidence-based floor is 1.6 g of protein per kg of body weight per day. Above a BMI of 30, it is applied to an adjusted body weight (the weight at BMI 22 plus 25% of the excess), so the target stays realistic. Your own target depends on your weight, activity and clinical advice.

Why a floor and not a percentage of calories?

On a GLP-1 you may eat far less. A percentage of a smaller intake shrinks the protein target exactly when protecting muscle matters most; a floor based on body weight does not move.

General information, not medical advice. If you take a GLP-1 medication, agree your nutrition targets with your prescriber.

Hit your floor without counting every gram

NutriOptio's reduced-appetite mode tracks your protein floor and stops grading you on calories you cannot eat.
